Project: Brand Revamp: Restaurant Transformation
  • One of my most cherished projects was the "Brand Identity" module, where our team embarked on a six-week journey to rejuvenate a restaurant's brand identity and communication strategy. A defining aspect of this project was the sense of autonomy we experienced—the opportunity to drive the project independently without external support from Hyper Island. This newfound responsibility empowered us to explore our capabilities and make a tangible impact.

  • The restaurant's brand identity overhaul unveiled a narrative of disconnect: a mismatch between the owner, staff, and a developer who had constructed the previous brand identity without engaging with the staff. Our process began by immersing ourselves in the staff's perspective, identifying pain points and insights. A startling revelation emerged: the restaurant had transformed its concept to a sustainable, climate-friendly lunch venue, but its online presence still clung to outdated sushi-focused messaging.

    Leveraging open and effective communication with the staff, we navigated the project with precision. Our efforts culminated in a comprehensive brand identity guideline PDF. This document meticulously outlined rules for consistent brand representation across social media and online platforms. It elucidated how assets should be integrated, the tone to be employed when interacting with customers, and other essential elements.

  • The project yielded multifaceted benefits. Beyond delivering an educational guide for the client—showcasing the significance of cohesive brand communication—it also laid the groundwork for future developers. With a clear, comprehensible guide in hand, prospective developers could effortlessly comprehend the brand's ethos and uphold its established principles.

    The success of this project stands as a testament to collaborative synergy, creative autonomy, and effective communication. The sense of accomplishment and the fulfilment derived from independently delivering an inspiring and impactful product to the client remain cherished highlights of my Hyper Island journey.
